Defence — Vajra Fighter

Vajra

India's omnirole fifth-generation twin-engine combat aircraft — born in Bengaluru, proven in battle.

The Vajra is India's first truly indigenous fifth-generation omnirole combat aircraft — capable of operating from both aircraft carriers and shore bases. Powered by two GE-414 turbofan engines with Indian afterburners, the Vajra can supercruise at Mach 1.5, carry a 9-tonne weapons load across 14 hardpoints, and prosecute simultaneously in air-to-air and air-to-ground domains. With over 40 aircraft now in service with the Indian Air Force and six with the Indian Navy, the Vajra is at the vanguard of India's aerospace self-reliance.
